Aboriginal abstudy number

A group of payments for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students or apprentices. We’ll tell you if you need to provide documents to support your claim. A fortnightly payment to help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians with living costs while studying or training. Note: The terms Indigenous, Aboriginal or Aboriginality are used throughout this manual to refer to both Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

It has three components of assistance: ! The Australian Government helps Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to study by providing a number of allowances and benefits. The amount of allowances that can be paid to the student may depend on many factors such as income and whether they are full-time or part-time. Proof of receipt of Abstudy will not be accepted as confirmation. Confirmation from an employee or student of the University will not be accepted.


The individual is responsible for confirming their own Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander identity. ABSTUDY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE. To be eligible you must: be in an approved course, Australian Apprenticeship or traineeship not be receiving any other payment to study or train. Allowance for Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people who are studying.


You may also be eligible if you are a full-time Australian Apprentice. In comparison, domestic award student enrolments increased by 46.
