What is the CPA exam score release? When does CPA score release? How long does a CPA exam last? All dates and times are based on the Eastern Standard Time (EST) zone.
For most candidates, Prometric sends Exam data files to the AICPA within hours after you complete testing.
Exam data files received after the AICPA cutoff dates will result in subsequent scheduled target score release dates. So the answer is, it depends. You will end up pressing the button on the score release site hundreds if not thousands of times.
Typically, the AICPA plans the first score release date for a testing window in the first week of the second month in that quarter. CPA exam dates are an important piece of information to nail down as part of your test preparation. There are a limited number of testing windows available each year.
As you make plans to study for the CPA , you’ll need to know how to schedule the CPA exam , figure out the dates you want to take the test, and make sure you give yourself enough time. Nothing is going to restore your sleepless nights, but knowing something about CPA score release timing may shorten those endless hours of waiting a little bit.
The good news is that the vast majority of CPA candidates will see their scores at midnight EST on the target release date. I genuinely do not understand why it takes a minimum of a week to release scores (with the exception of BEC). The improvement in CPA review courses over the years is definitely a factor in this increase in pass rates. If your score for the exam is received after AICPA’s cutoff dates, your score will be available on the next scheduled score release date. Your State Board of Accountancy may require at least one day beyond the published score release. I took my first exam this past week, so the AICPA says my target release date is August 7th.
Some boards may require at least one day beyond the published target release date in the table to process and release scores. Since this is the first time releasing scores with the new Gateway system, we cannot pinpoint an exact time of the release. We will provide updates as we know more information.

Your total reported score does not represent a percentage correct, nor can you interpret it as such. The scores are calculated using a weighted combination of scaled scores from each of the portions in the different sections of the exam. Scores are not curved.
