What inventions did Australia invent? The black box flight recorder has helped make commercial air travel the world’s safest form of travel. Aussie inventions that make your life easier. Some improved daily life, while others achieved the extraordinary!


The part series reveals a raft of great Australian inventors who turned game-changing ideas into a reality and forever changed how we live.

In recent years, Australians have been at the forefront of medical technology with inventions including ultrasound , the bionic ear , the first plastic spectacle lenses , the electronic pacemaker , the multi-focal contact lens , spray-on artificial skin and anti-flu medication. Australian inventions also include a number of weapons or weapons systems, including the woomera, the tank, and the underwater torpedo. Australian insecticide company Mortein asked us for the formula, and soon Mortein’s Aerogard was the must-have item at every Australian BBQ. If we can’t think of anything then surely this is a challenge that Australian inventors everywhere should rise to?

Now, 1years after his death, the forgotten innovator is finally being remembered. Davison confidentially works with people to develop their new product ideas. The inventions have sold in Wal-Mart, Target, Lowes, Amazon and more. Owen gun, a simple submachine gun effective in wet conditions, invented by Evelyn Owen. The Owen was the only Australian -designed service firearm of World War II and was the main submachine gun used by the Australian Army during the war.
