Mcc nepal tour

MCC recently completed its first “Legacy Tour” of Nepal, which included taking a strong squad to compete in both red and white-ball cricket in the country. As well as the matches played on the tour, the Club’s charitable arm – the MCC Foundation – launched an eight-month project in Pokhara, Nepal’s second largest city. However, due to the outbreak of COVID-1 the trips will now not take place.

Marylebone Cricket Club will embark on its first “Legacy Tour” later this week when the Club will take a strong squad to Nepal. TU Ground while matches will be played in Pokhara Stadium. Nepal was chosen as the first country for MCC to visit after discussions between MCC and International Cricket Council (ICC). Nov MCC has returned from its first legacy tour to Nepal with Sporta Group. The tour forms part of a three-year commitment to visit the country each year and saw MCC play six matches.


It also witnessed the launch of an eight-month project by MCC Foundation. MCC will play six games during the tour , including a two-day and a 20-over match against the Nepal national team. They will also play against Nepal B and Uteams. Five fixtures will be played in Kathmandu, and the group will also travel west to Pokhara for a 50-over match against Pokhara CC.

A strong 13-man squad will be departing London for Nepal on Friday November, and will play six matches in the two-week trip including a three-day match against the Nepal national side, which has been granted first-class status. The MCC ’s Nepal tour will begin with a 50-over match against the U-team on November 3. The national team will face MCC in a 50-over match on November while the two sides will play a three. According to an expert who has worked for the Millenium Challenge Account, the Nepal office of the MCC , Nepal should consider the MCC as an economic part of the IPS.


Ratifying the MCC doesn’t necessarily mean being a part of a “military alliance”. Economists suggest that Nepal should accept any economic support and there is no harm for the country in endorsing the MCC. The MCC compact with Nepal marks a new chapter in the U. MCC ’s Nepal Compact is designed to increase the availability of electricity and lower the cost of transportation in Nepal. MCC ’s first of the three part Legacy Tour also included 50-over games against Nepal ’s senior national men’s squad and Usquad at TU groun which will host it’s maiden ODI matches come in the ICC CWC League Championship. This series thus was a crucial one for Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) to showcase their hosting prowess to ICC to perhaps get more hosting. The trip is part of MCC ’s Legacy Tour Programme and the players will also take coaching sessions to further cultivate the enormous and growing passion for cricket which exists in Nepal. The country, which lies in spectacular terrain in the Himalayas, has serous ambitions to follow the example of Afghanistan and become a full Test-playing cricket nation. On November MCC will take on Nepal Ufor 50-over match, followed by 50-over match against Nepal senior team on November at Tribhuvan University International Cricket ground.


Two players from Hampstead Cricket Club have been selected in an MCC squad which is departing for a two-week tour of Nepal today (Thursday). According to CAN, official fixture for the tournament is yet to be received from International Cricket Council (ICC). MCC Nepal periodically hosts Learning Tours for friends of MCC to visit Nepal and learn from our partners and the communities they serve.


Most recently, we hosted a Learning Tour around the theme of Resilience, which included an 8-day trek in rural Dhading District.
