Any welcome speech should start by thanking everyone attending the graduation ceremony. Welcome all the special guests who have been invited to the graduation ceremony. Today, 1st of July , is a day of joy, particularly for the graduating students and their parents.


We are all here to bid farewell to our students who are leaving this college after successful completion of their 12th year in the college. I welcome you all to this colorful ceremony. During the first day of classes, you will most definitely hear a speech from your principal or teachers. A welcome speech along with some announcements from your principal will be blasted through your school’s PA system.


This speech aims to formally welcome all the students back to school as well as set the tone for the rest of the school days. Giving a preschool graduation speech is also an opportunity to publicly thank your families for sharing and entrusting their child (ren) with you. In addition, it is an opportunity to thank staff such as the director, co-teachers, support staff and volunteers. Firstly I would like to thank the coaches, thank you for your dedication and commitment to the boys over the past few months. Thank you for volunteering your time and facilitating this. This day is about you and what you’ve achieved through hard work, determination, and moments of creative inspiration. It’s been yet another landmark year for Red Oaks. You are not only a high school graduate now, but you are taking a new step towards being a responsible and mature person.


All the best for new and exciting things in the future to come. A catchy beginning for your high school graduation welcome speech will signal to the audience that you have something meaningful to say. A story that describes the graduating class or a lesson that impacted you is a great way to illustrate the thesis of your speech.


Don’t be afraid to be colorful and funny. Congratulations on all the hard work, efforts and dedication you have put in to make this possible. This is the first step, first success, first achievement for you and I wish many more achievements to you….

If you are in middle school and have been chosen to present an 8th grade graduation speech, keep your speech simple and short – not longer than five minutes – and follow the following format: Greet the audience. Introduce yourself. Reflect on your time in middle school highlighting a few special moments. For a graduation speech (whether its a welcome speech or the main speech ), I think the audience would respond well to a few key things: Anecdotal comedy - the one thing that a large majority of the audience has in common is that they know the school or college well, and the surrounding area. Jokes or observations etc.
